Yes you can. Get the oem in the box tho and get some info on this forum so you get the one you want and need. For the bucks would say get the 2500+ barton with the numbers listed on my sys below. You can get a lot out of this chip and it just ask for more!!!! Good Luck

if i go in there and raise hell they might price match it. also since i'll have it in my hand and say price match or return it, they might do it.

one time i told best buy i found a monitor online for cheaper and i wanted them to refund part of the money back, and they said they couldn't, so i told them i would return it in the state it was in. so i told them it was fried and i wanted some money back. so i got into a huge fight with them and finally they gave me the money back

Why don't you go to a local store instead of Comp USA? Out of all their customers, you're the only 1% that realizes that their prices are way too high since all their other customers think they're the only computer store that exist in the US! I doubt they'll change it since you have to look at it from their perspective too. Either make huge bucks or lower the price to make the 1% or lower happier.

my play was to try a chip out and if it worked, get compusa to price match the net afterwards, or return it and order online. i don't mind doing that to big chain stores because they send everything back in bulk to the manufacturer and get another one or their money back. but like hell if a local shop is gonna take a chip back once you have opened it. usually local shops are high like nothin else because they have no business and try to squeeze out all the profit they can. at least that is how all the stores here are

OK so the big boys send it back to AMD and AMD suffers! Just buy the thing online in the first place - simple.
