I have a Duron 800/Abit KT7a combo and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong here. I have used a number two pencil to draw in traces on the L1 jumpers. When I try to set the multiplier to anything above 8.5x, the machine posts and runs at 700MHz (7x). Is there something that I am doing dreadfully wrong? I can set the processor to any multiplier below 8.5, but nothing above works correctly. Anyone have ANY ideas on what I can try? TIA!

A lot of ppl seem to have similar problem. I guess the pencil trick is not done properly if this is the case. One line is not enough, you have to rub the pencil several times, and cover the bridges with led. I recommend rather hard pencil.
If this doesnt work you could try some electrical pen (silver) or the stuff used to fix read window defogger in cars.
There are few guides here on the www.overclockers. com main page also.
Good Luck
dude save your self a big headeche and buy eather a mico tip conductive pen or a window defoger kit (use a needle with the defoger)
the bridge`s will look like this when thay are corect . l l l l
look here for the pen
