You better get one while there hot!, the bids close tomorrow. Man, thats far under $1500 canadian!!

The 5900 Ultra is the fastest card on the planet an will super charge any PC!

EDIT: THIS IS IT!!! This is one of the last reference designs by nVidia and its official!!! This board will be rare soon so slap that $1500 US bid down now before this card is gone forever!

Umm, even if the 5900 performed 4 times as well as a Radeon 9800 Pro, I still wouldn't pay that much for a vid card. I can think of a lot of better things to invest that much money in instead of something that will be worth 1/10 of the asking price in a little less than 2 years.

its a steal alright...

The GeForce FX 5900 Ultra doesn't outperform the Radeon 9800 pro when high quality settings are activated inside the games. ie. trillinear filtering, world detail, character detail, etc. When those are activated along with FSAA and AF, the Radeon 9800 pro gains about 20%-50% of a lead over the FX 5900U.

And a good image quality/performance ratio is what matters most, right? :)

wow , a good deal there :D

I rather get myself a P4 3.06 and a lot of ram with that money

For that kind of money I would rather have a Voodoo 5 6000. Not nearly as fast, but it has a much higher pimp factor :).

Maybe it's really nVidia tryin to make an extra buck or two. Imagine if we soon see more "secret" cards pop-up on eBay selling for ~$800. Wow that'd be like $600 profit or something crazy.

I've got an old GF3 lying around... maybe I should sell it for $500 as a "Value" card on ebay. :)

Ouch almost $1000 for a video card that's a little extreme for a model series that's on the rocks not to mention the company itself...
Besides in a matter of months that price will drop quickly I bet, and the current moment ATI is catching peoples attention performance and price wise.

Personally save the $800 and get yourself a Geforce 4 Ti4600 128MB and put a $20 fan on it and $8 Arctic Silver 3 on the GPU and overclock that baby.:santa2:
You still won't have the performance like the new FX series, but you will be pretty close and you will save so much money that can go to your bills or to another piece of computer hardware.

DohDoh :)

Remember that this is only ebay...

This might not be too related, but when the Compaq Ipaq came out, it was extremely rare and many of them were selling on ebay for $1000 or so (double the retail price).

Hmm'm, Maybe we should start an nvidea bashing forum, just for the same group that keeps doing it. Okay I believe you, step down off the soapbox allready, Please! I won't buy another nvidea product, ever, okay allready! (extreme sarcasm intended) The tides will turn as they always do, same with the GPU.

If I sell my family on eBay, maybe I would be able to pay for that thing...

Even if I bought it, I would be scared to take it out of the box.

Well as for you guys bashing the card, it definately is a good card, maybe not as good in all aspects as the 9800 or whatever, but still you have to admit that compared to any other card out there it rocks.

Yeah I like NVidia even though I know ATI has faster cards, I've owned both and ATI turned me off a while back when they had horrible driver support, yeah they may have improved, but even so I'm not ready to try ATI again.

Ok but as for the price LOL! I woudl rather build a new computer. Or I could look at it this way, either I go to school, or drop out of school for a quarter to buy a 3D card. guess thats not exactly targeted at a self supporting college student ;)

lol agreed. With a price tag like that, I could also pay my dad's house payment, the electric bill, the phone bill, buy a new Hard Drive, and on and on...lol

But seriously, I really think that this card will be a pretty good card like FrozenFears said. Maybe it won't be as fast or as great as the 9800 in all areas, but you have to admit this card sure looks like an improvement over the 5200 and 5600 cards. Guess we'll have to wait and see until we can get our greedy little o/cing hands on it :)

That has to be the most insane cost for one computer part I've seen in a while. NVidia needs to keep working, maybe one day they will win my business back, this is not that day.

OC Noob
05-31-03, 07:39 PM
Well, that price has nothing to do with the NVidia retail so I wouldn't lay this one on them.

Thats just your buddy, the the neighbor, the guy from work, etc... just trying to price gauge someone. Typical ebay.

Anyway, the dipstick (yes I jelous) who won this one probably wipes his butt with hundreds.

Why must you people turn everything into ATi v Nvidia. For god sakes take a joke. HTe point of this thread was to laugh at the idiots on ebay and move on. This price has absolutely no bearing on the actual pricing on the 5900.

I am sorry but with all due respect you would have to be either a real geek or someone with too much money to pay that much for a video card. I bet that thing would raise the ambient temp of any room by 10 degrees at least.

Theres no game that even needs all that raw horsepower yet If you have a good mobo fast cpu and plenty memory.

Well no, not yet, but games like DOOM 3 will be comming out soon, and these games are going to rape a lot of peoples' current systems.

I will be DOOM3 ready!

US $980.00 (reserve not yet met)

I do not believe anyone got it because this person is asking for the price I would charge to build an entire PC *excluding Monitor, Keyboard, and mouse* :D lol, and they are Awesome machines. Wow, to think someone would actually pay 1g for bragging rights alone O.o

Dont gorget that this board in particular was one of the few reference nVidia boards "Built By nVidia" . Someone may have wanted that board just because its a pure nVidia product and was not designed by one of there third party manufacturers.

P.S - This was no joke, that bid really did go through for a whopping $1400 Canadian. Now thats gotta hurt!
