I have recently tried overclocked my K6 III 400 to 450 with 2.6V, no problem. Also I have found unlisted voltage settings: 2.5, 2.6, 2.7V of the mainboard, could you give some details? Look at my post.

I thought my fic1st Mainboard was bad, but I guess it's alright.
I'm runnin a k62-450 at 556 (500/w 112 fsb). Voltage is at 2.8 and it's been stable for a few months now. Temp is really low, unless I go heavy on 3d, but no problems. (I've also got the side of my case removed.

You have very similar mb as me, mine is MVP4G. 44C is not very hot but better not let it goes up too much. Have you read my post on the link? Search for MVP4 in google.com and you can find menus of this type of mb; magic-pro menu provide 2.0-3.5V for four pair of jumpers type. You may try the settings but I cannot guarantee it won't blow your CPU. I only say I trust my guess with information collected and it works. :)
