I have an original 900MHz slot A Athlon that until recently I have been using on an Abit KA7 with a VOS32. After trying to watercool it, I could not get it to post anymore. After lots of experimenting I have determined that the contacts may have been weakened by the weight of the VOS32, and the CPU will no longer maintain the correct position in the mobo. I know the problem isn't the mobo, because other Athlons will work in it. Does anyone know a way to firm up the contacts, or is this boy toast?

if the other PU's work in the board ,chances are its the chip ,as all chips have the same width edge connector ,if the contacts in the slot were messed ,then NO chip would work ,,did you split it when you were water cooling?
