I have 3 win2K box's and 1 win98se box. My win2k box's can see and access each other but not see the win98 machine. The win98 machine can see the others but not access because its Fat32 and the win2k's are NTFS.

It used to be the other way around B4 I reformatted the win98 machine. It could be seen and accessed by the win2k machines but not see them. This was fine because I could always access it to up/download but now I cant do anything with that 98 machine...

NEED Help......the GF needs some stuff burned (too big for floppy) and the Burner is on my machine..

Thanks

Do you all have them on the same workgroup?

The file system used on each computer is irrelevant- network protocols such as TCP/IP translate into a common "language" between networked pcs.
Most servers on the Internet use some form of *nix (Unix, Linux, BSD, etc.) yet Windows pcs can still access it, right?

On to the actual problem:

Win98 networking kind of....stinks;) But it does work- one of the tricks I have found in the past is that putting the name of the workgroup in BOTH the workgroup name box AND the Windows NT Domain box (but do NOT check the Use Win NT Domain checkbox) helps.

Also make sure that filesharing is enabled and that you have shared resources on the Win98 pc.

Make sure that the TCP/IP settings are correct- same subnet, IP address should be the same for the first three octets and different for the last: 192.168.1.X for example.
Of course that does not apply if you use DHCP ;)

Does any of that help?
