Hey, I just ordered an AMD K6-III+ 450 cuz I heard it would work on a regulat socket 7 motherboard, especially an asus p5a with hardware rev below 1.05

Anyone know anything about this? I checked on AMD's site and got the pin diagrams for the regular k6-III and the K6-III+, there are some differences, I havn't thouroghly analyzed it yet though. The main difference between the regular and the + is that the +'s were made with .18 micron technology, and therefore can be run at lower core voltage. the 450+ is supposed to run at 2.0 volts core. I'm hopeing with my swiftech water block and peltier, that i will be able to get ths thing up around 650 - 700

any comments are welcome !

You must have Rev 1.4 or earlier to run a K6-III+ CPU. Later revisions will not work. Go here for good info on K6-+ series issues.
