It says 640 for me. I am on cable and only pay for 256down, but I regularly check it and it usually is around 490. When I'm at school in my dorm it can be high as 4MB.

2.1 Mb is fast. What do you pay for? I pay for 1.5 Mb/s through Comcast but get a little bit more, ie 1.6 Mb/s.

I think as long as you are getting 90% of your advertised speeds, it's all good.

Definitely fast, my cable connection usually floats between 1.8 and 2.1 Mb.....

i got 1.6 as well (from comcast) and i pay for 1.5 so i am definitely pleased. i mean i wouldn't mind paying less, but it works for me :) 2.1 is a very nice connection speed. of course, just divide by 8 and you will get the kilobytes per second you can download...

2Mbits is very good. It really depends on who your asking. If this were "Grandma's knitting club forums", then 2Mbits would be way too much for checking email once a week...

If you use the bandwidth, and you feel that it's fast enough for you, then it's 'good' :) If you don't use the bandwidth, then there is really no need for it, is there?

Seems pretty good.

I'm spoiled though by my OOL cable connection.

mmmmm 800 KB/S :D

For those of you on Comcast, a few months ago they raised the cap from 1.5 mbps to 1.8 mbps downstream and more recently bumped the upstream from 128k to 256k.

score... :p
hehe

i haven't kept up with comcast too much because i was at school with our 6.25 mbps connection speed (that's about what it was limited to for each student)

my dad told me there was a $5 price hike... that must be their justification...

That isnt quite right. I get 3mbit when I test on broadbandreports.com and I have hit DL speeds of 750kb/s

I ran the test and got 2.2Mb/s, Comcast Cable in Seattle Washington.

Storage is 264.4kbps

and 1MB download was 3.9 seconds

It all depends on your advertised speeds.

If you are paying for 10Mb/s and you get 3Mb/s that stinks, you guys get the point though.

I pay for 2000/384, and I get a little above that.

Your download speed : 3005773 bps, or 3005 kbps.
A 366.9 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 277046 bps, or 277 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

This is about average for me; i have posted my speed test on another thread and it may have been different. I am on Shaw Cable.

I pay for 1meg down and got 1.1 right on the button. I just wish it was cheaper. They make you pay for basic cable to get internet service here. That makes my bill $60 mo for internet. OUCH.

I have Comcast cable now... I get 2.5mbit @ bandwidth place, usually around 1730kbit at other places like dslreports.

Got the same speeds before AT&T switched to Comcast, and it was $15 cheaper :( I'm still trying to figure out why they jacked up our price... $15 isn't really a small increment either, $45 - $60 for the basic internet package.
