i was in walmart at 2am a week ago

i saw the neon green and red and whatever colored plexiglas CLIPBOARDS in the office supply areas

you could *so* use those for case modding and they are like less than three dollars

about the size of a sheet of paper, youd have to cut off the end where the clip is riveted on, but i still think thats a bad ass idea..

theres a sample of what they have... im sure you could find them in almost any color besides the ones i saw, which were neon yellow, green, blue, red, orange, and clear.

One possible downside: Scratches.
When you buy Plexiglass by the square foot it comes with a protective covering, allowing it to remain scratch-free when you handle and transport it, as well as allowing you to work with it easily.

I'm sure you could find plenty of scratch-free clipboards, but you'd have to go to the trouble of protecting them while you work.

Tape protects plexi quite well ;)

The only problem I have with using clipboards is the small size: my favorite cases are old discarded server cases- and they have plenty of room for BIG windows!

But there are a number of other things I can do with small plexi pieces.......

Gotta love creative thinking!

Awesome idea just popped into my head with those clipboards. what about a case made completely out of them? a few cuts, some plasti-welded joints, viola, one multi-colored, transparent case!!!
I've got enough extra parts laying around to build another computer, why not?!?!?!?

I don't know about you but I can buy like 2x as much plexi for that price from a hardware store? Am I missing something? Is it just that they are tinted?

I think it has to do with the tinting.

It'd look really good, I'm curious to see it done.

good for cd windows and other small windows, not so great for big stuff. Have fun gluing everything together too :)
