I know this is the wrong section, but i was wondering if you guys could help me out more than the intel guyz!!! My Celeron II 700 @ 877 just won't goto 1.06ghz (next step) and i really need some help to get ther. I have a AMD THUNDERBIRD heatsink on it and it runs at 75f idle!!! I pumped the voltage from 1.7 to 2.5 and still no post!!! I have no idea what it is!!! PLEASE HELP ANYTHING WILL DO!!!


Celeron II 700 @ 877 1.65v (1.7v Default)
10gb hard drive 5400rpm
10gb hard drive 7200rpm
64mb pc100 (infineon 7ns @ 133) 128mb pc133 (crucial)

don't put it at 2.5v again, that's for sure!! you'll fry that chip! how is 1.06ghz the next step from 877mhz? that's a bloody huge jump, and your chip might just not be able to take it. it's only a 100mhz fsb for the chip, and if you don't even get a post then it's a good indication that the chip won't take that. can't you try a little lower first?

Reset everything and start over. Your chances of getting to 1.06 are slim anyway. Go slowly 1 step at a time and see how far you can actually get with stansard voltage, and only increase it as you need to. Also, make sure you've got a tight seal with the CPU and your heatsink. Lose the PC100 too.

Hey guyz thanx for the replies!!! I thought u would hate me!!! I just found out that with the card i was using, the voltage was still only on 2.0 not 2.5. I can only go from 877 to 1.06ghz because my motherboard has 66, 75 , 83, 100 fsbs. no 85 90 95. I get awesome PERFORMANCE OUT OF MY RADEON NOW!!! I found the new 4in1 drivers that i downloaded and gave them a second chance after they screwed up my RAGE FURY PRO 32mb VIVO and i get 200 fps in Q3 now in the normal preset setting and in timedemo 1 in demo001 i get 130fps!!! I love my setup now. The other 64mb of PC100 really helps out my performance!!! I have it running just like the PC133. If i take out the pc133 and just test the pc100 by itself i get the same score in sisandra memory benchmark as the 133. If they are both in together i get an even better score!!! I still want to get to 1.06ghz just to make it fun!! Now that i found my bottleneck i am very happy and can enjoy my computer and stop yelling at it!!!

Yep I would tend to agree. Life just wouldn't be the same with out a computer...I think I would have to commit suicide. ;D
