I have a Netgear router, I just purchased it. I seen the port forwarding thingy there for playing games and I cant get it to work. It asks for the server's IP address and i play on a whole bunch of diffirent servers all the time. I play CS and DoD so how would I configure it? I havent been able to connect to a game since I got the router.

lol in the server's ip, that's the local ip for the server YOU are hosting.
You don't need to forward ports, unless you are setting up a server.

Yeah, dont worry about port forwarding unless you want to host a game. And if you want to host, just forward the game port (27015 in the case of CS) to the internal ip of your computer (192.168.1.xxx)

So the reason my games are not working is not because my router is screwing with them. Ok thanks for the help guys :)

If you;re trying to host games and port forwarding is not working for you, you can also try to make your computer be a DMZ. When DMZ, it won't be protected by the router's firewall, but it should allow you to host games. Just remeber to turn DMZ off when you're done hosting the game.
