i plan to buy a t-bird 1.1 gig tommorrow, any tips on getting a good clockable one? do i need to do the pencil trick? anyone who could provide some help is extreamely appreciated. i read some where blue is better than green or is that blue on all the t-birds? and i plan to get an abit kt7-raid.

it shouldn't matter what kind you get, i believe they should all be made in dresden using copper, so you shouldn't need to worry about that. If the L1 bridges are all connected, then you won't have to unlock it, but if they are cut, you will have to connect them to overclock it. You should be able to find lots of posts about what to use to unlock it. I would also recommend going with the kt7A-raid, its a little more expensive, but uses the new 266 ddr fsb, instead of the 200ddr fsb....

does the kt7a able to use sdram too? so later i can just go out and buy ddr ram or do i need to get ddr ram? :)

The KT7a can run SDRAM at 133MHz - same as the KT133 boards. The difference is the fsb is also 133 - ie the cpu communicates with the northbridge 33% faster than with the KT133 chipset. You cannot put DDR ram in a KT133a board - it's designed as an intermediate upgrade, to allow people to keep their PC133 RAM, but run the new 133MHz fsb chips at 133MHz fsb as intended (266 fsb effectively due to the athlon's dual-pumped bus).
