Hey guys

Im having problems with internet connection sharing. I have one computer running win2000 pro with modem (dialup) which i use to connect to the internet. I recently connected( thru hub) another Pc with windows 98. I want to access the internet on both machines. how do i do it?

Ps. i right clicked on my connection icon on windows 2000 and checked box next to share connection and enable connection on demand. On windows 98 i specified gateway aswell. It still doesnt work :(
wht am i doing wrong ????????

You can't share the internet connection using a HUB. You need a Router. Unless you have 2 different IP addresses, you need a router not a hub

well i figured it out and im sharing my internet connection (im still using hub). The computer on which, internet connection is enabled acts as a gateway for the rest of the computers.

Well if it's only two computers you can just get a crossover cable and select that option in network setup (the option where it is connected directly to the computer- what you have MIGHT work if you select that now...):D
