anyone care to post some pictures of their slk series heat sinks since they are so popular?

Here's a couple with a 92mm fan (sorry for the size, nerdlogic and I haven't had time to resize them):

And here is the inside of nerdlogic's case afterwards (notice the size of the 92mm compared to everything else on the motherboard):

Judging by those pics that is a SLK-800a with a 92 tornado attached...or am I wrong?

If that is...how well did the 92 actually help...the reason why I ask is because mine should be here tomorrow to go on my slk-800a...

I can't tell you how much the 92mm helped as that was the first thing nerdlogic got with it. What are you switching out? Chances are, if you're going to run it at full speed, then it will definitely yield better temps than an 80mm fan. (Shrouding it helped temps as well, but I couldn't run it standing up as the socket couldn't handle the stress.)
The best bet is for an SF2 for noise/airflow performance ratio if you're concerned about noise. Running the Tornado at 3000 RPM gives you around the same CFM as the SF2 at full speed. The SF2 at full speed is higher pitched, but quieter than the Tornado at 3000RPM. Since the SF2 generates more static pressure, being a smaller area with the same CFM, it's logical that it brought my temps down from 52Cload to 46Cload.

Hmm, looks likt alot of air will miss the HS with a 92mm, I would try a thermaltake SF 2 @ 76CFM on it ;)

you should try to make a duct that all the air that is lown by the fan is blown directly onto the heatsink. Would eliminate the dead spot and probably lower temps by a couple *C

I'd get a Delta 68CFM over a Thermalcrap "73CFM" any day.

Looks like a good setup-- except that GA-7VAXP! Can you really get a decent overclock with that board? I had a hard time with my 7VAXP Ultra, but was able to get a decent overclock after a lot of work.

You said your temps were 46C load, what processor are you running? Reason I'm asking is because my proc is running too hot, and I'm considering an SLK800A over a more expensive watercooling solution. I'm curious to see how much better an slk-800a can cool over the Volcano 9 (I'll be using the TT SF2 on the 800A).
