I'm planning to buy a new system primary for gaming, what is the best mobo/cpu in term of price/performance out there? I like intel because that's the only chip I used in my life but everyone is buzzing about thunderbird is fast and way cheaper than Intel. I read bunch of reviews but i'm still skeptical what to choose, maybe some of you can help me out.

Damn..nice

What mobo are you using, and what do you recommend I should get for Tbird? I heard a7v is quite good.

tbirds are great
go for the KT7 or if you got cash to burn, KT7a.
keep the raid versions in mind.

yep, the tbird is that good. it gave the 1.4ghz and 1.5ghz p4s a beating in most benchmarks ia a recent article over at www.tomshardware.com. for the price you can't go wrong!! as for the mobo, get the asus a7v133 or abit kt7a-raid. they're both awesome.

Don't laugh cause i'm new to amd cpu...which one of these two mobo asus a7v133 and abit kt7a-raid have longer productivity meaning which one support more higher cpu in the future if I want to upgrade for instance, or they're just the same?

Dude! Thunderchickens are THE best price\ performance chips out there, I have an EPOX EP-8KTA2 and a 700 T-BIRD that I overclocked to1000mhz! The best part is that i only paid $225 for the mobo & cpu, and don't let anyone fool ya, epox kicks some major ass, check the review at toms hardware and you'll see that for the money, you can't go wrong with epox

OK I'll bite for defense of the MSIpro2a board, I have an AMD1Ghz T-bird running 1242 right now, I believe it is pretty much maxed out but the scores are great, I have them here: http://yourpage.blazenet.net/nutndun/scores.htm
I think if I do a little more tweaking I might be able to get more.

Why is so many people using Alpha pal 6035, is the thermal take chrome orb no good?

The Chrome Orb is NOT a good HSF for overclocking!!!
