This (http://24.57.97.130/cad/sink/mop_full.jpg) thing is...odd, to say the least? What is it? Some sort of homebrewed HSF? Looks like a bunch of metal octopi on the CPU...I think it's reaching for me...

Where in the hell did you find that? If it's in your PC, maybe you were drunk and tried to make your PC quieter or something.

If you figure it out, don't tell me. I'm scared enough.

Just a random guess,
but maybe somebody took the bottom of a heatsink and soldered pieces of metal onto it, so that it would increase surface area.
I dunno, wierd to say the least.

look like arc welding sticks to me.
id guess someone figured they would bond enough of them to make that horrible thing.
well i guess if it didnt cost anything nothing but my heart was hurt in the process :D

Did a little searching and came up with THIS (http://24.57.97.130/cad/sink/mop.htm). Doesn't explain much but there are some more pictures. Looks like they took a waterblock and attached a whole bunch of weird things to it.. :)

Here is their site: http://24.57.97.130/cad/main.htm

I like some of their Antec mods.. :)

if that is a heatsink, i would think that drawing all that heat and being that close to the AGP slot would be bad news

There's nothing IN the AGP slot.

They look like welding sticks. Or.. They could be sticks from a tree. If they are from a tree I believe it should be called the "Hippie block".

nah its just the motherboard "coming of age". ahhh its times like these that makes you glad to be a programmer. your mother board grows up and reaches her first OC. treat her well. she wont be around much longer... LOL
