I searched the forums for a similar problem but did not find it. I did in another thread, however, see someone mention that other GeForce 4's seem to have had this problem. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so do they know what I can do about it?
It seems like any time I make any hardware changes on my computer my video card doesn't work anymore.
I have a GeForce 4 Ti4600.
Whenever something is added, removed, or even moved from one slot to another I seem to run into the same problem. The monitor just says "Please Check Signal". I have tried more than one monitor every time this happens so that I know it's not just the monitor's problem.
Most recently I put in a PCI 56K modem because I just moved and I need something I can connect with until the cable modem is set up here. The first time I turned on the computer after inserting the card, I got "Please Check Signal" on the monitor. I tried the modem in a different slot. Same thing. I reseated the video card. Same thing. I removed the modem and reseated the video card again. Same thing.
Previously, I have had a friend of my father's look at it, and he always comes back with a different answer that works right up until the hardware is in some way changed again. I really have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Any suggestions?
