Ok Im building a new comp, from lookin here I realize a good goal for my Oc'ed clock speed is 2.2 - 2.4Ghz , Just wonderin what setup (Mobo/Ram/Cpu) i would need to reach within that range, perferablly the least amount possible being spent on cooling cause im on a budget, got about 400 with a max of 450 for all that, thanx for any info.

When choosing between the 2100 and 1700 the 1700 is cheaper of course, but cooling is always an issue. I suppose the 1700 will have to run at a higher Temp to reach the same lvl as a 2100, is this right?

nope not really.

the XP 1700 takes less voltage to reach higher speeds, then the XP 2100 typically does.

I have had about 15 Xp 2100's, and only 4 Xp 1700's.

the DLT3C Xp 1700 was the keeper of them all, cause in my prometiea it took 1.95 volts to reach 3 ghz, and it does it almost every single time, where as, not one XP 2100 was this reliable, and took 2.1 volts to get that kinda numbers.
plus, the XP 1700 has a higher stable speed, then any Xp 2100 did under the same conditions.

a good XP 1700 should be better then a good XP 2100 on air or such.

Slk800 and 1700+ 1.5vcore from www.svc.com
Abit nf7-s from www.newegg.com
Twinmos memory from www.memoryx.com

That should be a cheap setup that runs like a champ
