About Hoot's Sticky Psu Post

In his post he says to figure out if your psu is good you have to compare to certain Numbers, Well my Psu is a 300w thus according to hoot my Combined 3.3 & 5V output should be 150-160W , But is my psu bad since its 3.3 & 5V output is 180w?

He is speaking in terms of a minimun, nothing wrong with having more.

As time passes power supplies tend to get more stout. These days 150-160W of 3.3+5V output isn't all that much. But make no mistake, if you have a "300W" supply that has less 3.3+5V output than 150W, it doesn't really make 300W total.

The best 300W supply I have used is the Fortron/Sparkle 300W units, they have 200W of 3.3+5V output.
