whats wrong with orange ?
sorry no luck on a search for a yellow fan.
I ran across a site with purple and white , the white looks preety cool.
http://www.tcwo.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_main.html?catid=170&sid=44oBmP0lj2xj2tR
Why I also just found these , http://svc.com/80x25mmfans.html
some of them look yellow and have a lil yellow in them .
I have a blue theme going on and when I got my new 400W power supply it has 2 LED fans on it and it was blue/red/yellow(yellow gets it oushined and is barely noticeable)
But the red going in quite nicely with the blue I have and all looks good, atleast I think so. Just my opinion.
i'm looking for uv fans not led fans ;)
but thanks for the help :D
the svc fan that looks yellow is labeled as being red  i'm not sure i wanna take the chance on it.

would you say clear fans are better candidates?
also: need it to match this:

Maxvla, I searched for 20min and the closest thing I could find are these: http://www.dynatron-corp.com/products/coolingfan/coolingfan_model.asp?id=33&cid=32 If you look at the "green" one, it looks pretty yellow to me. Hope it helps a little.
Oh wow, I got all confused. The green one looks yellow with no UV on, but the orange looks yellow with the UV on...sorry, It's the best I could find. :(
I also found this place: http://castle.pricewatch.com/search/searchmc.idq?cr=Yellow%20UV&qc=%22YELLOW%22*%20AND%20%22UV%22*%20AND%20%40tota lcost%3E0%20AND%20%40minorder=1+AND+%40ctd+199&i=199&ct=Computer&c=Fans&mi=N&m=N&ne=12405&l=12359They claim to have Yellow UV fans, but they don't have a website. You can call them I guess...:(
Edit. That link is weird, just re-push the search button on the top right and only 1 result should come up.

Tell me that's not your urine..... :D
Hey Starfox. What would it look like if you painted the inside of a case with UV paint? I remember you doing a mobo, but I think the case would look cool.
followed the links and such and found the fans on their website. but it turns out they only have orange, blue and green like the rest. :(
thanks for looking.

i have only tried it on clear fans, they turned out "okay"
i'm sure it would look the same on a black fan as it goes on solid.
xoxide sells UV paint that goes on clear, so it would look GREAT on clear fans.
go to www.clearneon.com
that is the paint they sell at xoxide. i got some free cans because they wanted to use one of my pictures. go to gallery, and you can see one of my UV blue clear fans.
i dont have anymore clear neon paint, just some krylon UV paint that goes on as the color, and glows under UV light.
i tried painting the inside of my case with clear neon but it didnt light up too good when i flipped the UV lights on.
that looks great. i think i'll go with that and some clear fans.
how should i paint them? i'm not sure what you meant about taking the blades off.
There was a guide somewhere...You need to take the blades off so you can paint the walls and everything better. Google for a guide.
this guy (http://www.voltronkru.com/plexi/pages/fans.html) just hung his fans up and sprayed them. no word on if they still work, but he seems happy with it.
only thing about that is getting paint into the motor... isn't that a bad thing??

lol i thought the same. naturally i wouldn't do that.. but hanging them up and spraying them is what i was after.
since i'm using clear fans i don't think i'll need much spray to get the effect i want. would i be safe to lightly spray them like this guy did? whats the chances i'll kill the fan?

I havent really taken a close look at a computer fan, but I would imagine the motors are sealed tight because in fans, naturally they would gather alot of dust and the motors need to be protected, not just for motor life but also noise.

ah a picture if worth a thousand words.
lol
I bought some fans like that cheap @ frys 5 bucks each.
When I brought them home they worked great but the tri-LED looked fruity as hell in my computer.
Needed the airflow so I kept them in. lol
i won't be using that fan but its just to show there is a small gap.
that fan has tri leds and i don't really like them.

Me neither, they just look wrong. :bang head in my case.
I added black flex tubing and everything looks tuff execpt for those tri light LEDs. lol
well i got the can today... and i am far from impressed.
the NEON paint looks like this under UV light:
http://www.otsbh.net/images/slingpillow/yellow.jpg
not exactly neon. not even yellow really. more like a white cream. not even close to what i wanted like in the picture above (posted again so they are closer together for reference:

what to do.... what to do....

get some of those pens that work under the uv light and perhaps high-light the fans?
that's about all i can think
use clear fans, highlight perhaps the edges/etc of the fan.
or if you can find that uv ink in quantities maybe brush it on?
Wiseass

These (http://www.metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/uv_drawing/index_eng) are the pens im talking about BTW
well if u figure out how to get the fans painted then get some regular yellow spraypaint and then after painting with that....paint them with the clear yellow neon paint and you can have yellow fans in both the dark and the light...with or without uv.

This may be weird but a few years back you could purchase Worm dye for plastic worms and the most popular and cheapest color was florescent yellow. I am sure they still sell the stuff but it was used to dye most plastics and I think it would work well.
wouldn't brushing leave marks in the paint?

probably would but think about it, if the thing is spinning, are you really going to see the brush strokes?
plus it was just an idea, i don't even know if you can get hte stuff in a paintable form
id say do the outline on the outer edges and maybe around the fan blades with those pens..that would look pretty cool if you ask me
well i'd rather paint the whole thing that use a pen to outline it.
and as far as it moving... i'd be painting more than just the fan blades ;)

hmmm true...
I dunno what else there is. Maybe check a local art/craft supply store and see if they have any UV reactive paint. Otherwise it might be best to get a clear fan, paint it yellow, then paint over it with the clear UV yellow stuff.
