Are you running 133mhz fsb speed with your board? Do you have 133mhz chip?(new on the market) .
I can only advice you to download the latest drivers for your mobo and vid card.

couple of ideas. try reducing the AGP to 2x, put the via mobo drivers in AFTER the vid card, and try booting with devices 1 at a time. good luck.

Make sure you have the current AGP drivers for your motherboard. Also, try reseating the card.

Hello all,
My first post here..if I break the forum protocol, please let me know.
I install the Radeon cards in the following order:
AIDDE (think AID is in HELP !)
Agp
Ide
Direct X
Display
Etc...
ATI drivers should be installed so:
1.Set ATI driver to standard PCI display device (Reboot)
2.Install latest Direct X (8.0a) and reboot.
3.Run ATI install from latest drivers, 5.13.7072 (DO NOT Reboot)
4.Run VIA AGP install in normal mode, AGP 4.04 (again do NOT Reboot)
5.Rub > MSCONFIG >StartUp tab > disable (uncheck) ATIGART and ATIPOLAB ..NOW REBOOT !!
this should work..keep us updated as to whether it works so we can help you further if needed!!
Hope this helps...

yay after stayin up to 5 am I figured it out..thanks for you help peeps!! I got to the point where I just had to start from the beginning .. this is what I did (if your even intrested)
1. format my raid
2. set up win98
3. then installed the mobo drivers
4. installed the directX 8
5. installed the ati beta drivers from their web site(hahah) for the radeon
Basically exactly what Megahurtz said!!!, a lil too late but thank you!
okay next step THE PENCIL!!!!!! (:-Þ)
i think the key to this whole mess was that directx 8 was needed and that win98 doesnt have that....
