First let me say I have never Overclocked anything , I have built lots of systems using Intel. I want to use a Tbird and a ASUS board. I had a Email telling me that all T Birds were the same chip..they just had to be unlocked using a conductive pen!! Is this true ??? Also what is the latest ASUS A7V Board...if I am going to buy I might as well buy the newest..Right !!

Also
Thanks in advance

The Asus A7V is no longer exciting choice if you are getting a new mobo, check out the new 133mhz boards.

The Tbirds can be unlocked, but overclocking results and rated speed are closely related. Check the cpu database here on the main page. Some Tbirds are made in Austin Tx fab, other in Dresden Germany (higher freq chips) and are better oc'ers than the Austin chips.
