Well, it's a MiniDisc player, and I don't beleive it can play MP3s. Looks like a decent buy if any stores in your area carry MiniDiscs. (I've never seen a MiniDisc, other than blank, sold anywhere I've been so far...)

Minidiscs never took off and I don't think they ever will. I worked in a store that had the same minidisc player on display closeout for over a year. It was still there when I quit.

Patience... I expect that within a year, you'll be able to play mp3's off mini DVD+R's. That'll be about the same size as this, will hold about 3 times as many mp3's as any of the few mp3-capable minidisk players hold, and will probably start at about $200.

And if you can't, then some company is REALLY missing out on potential profits.
