I just picked up an oem duron right now and the thing isn't green like on other pictures I've seen. The core is metalic coloured with a thin light blue film on it. Is this thing ok or should I bring it back. I have until tomorow to bring it back if its no good.

The Identification number is D700AUT1B. According to a post I read, this id tells me that the default voltage is 1.6 volts. Is this the normal default for this processor?

Have you tried the processor out yet?....if it works, keep it...
Most durons have a green core and are made right here in the good old US of A, but the higher clocked t-birds have a blue core, use copper interconnects, and are made at AMD's Destrehen fab in Germany...

I haven't heard of any durons with copper interconnects, but you never know...

I'd say try it out, see if it works...never know, you may be able to hit a gig with it

I just got the same thing last week from atacom - a duron 700 its not green or blue, it is metalic, but it definately had a layer of blue stuff over it. It is now running at 960 on my abit kt7a raid 7x137. So I would give it a try.
