OK...Ive got an MSI KT4V Mobo and the problem is that my IDE cables are not long enough to reach my ROM drives. Stupid MSI put the IDE plugins @ the bottom of the mobo not on the side like others. Ive got a 24in cable in there @ the moment, but its stretched really tight and I dont like it pullin on my MOBO like that. I have also looked @ the 36in cables but the slave plug is 2 far down and would not reach my second ROM drive...So ne help would b appreciated. Oh yea Ive got the Antec case if that helps.(its TALL):(

I guess it's just a matter of finding cables that will fit your needs..

erm, splice extentions in from other ide cables? i dont know it it would work but i dotn see why it wouldnt. You could put it so the master and slave heads are still in the right locations and then extend between the mob connection and the master head. I dunno tho but considering iv only been working on puters for a bit less than 6 months and i already have more spare cables than i kinow what to do with i dont see where you would have an issue with havin a lil experiment. Incase you dont understand me first separate each wire at the splice point and then separate the wire at each end of the graft cable. I have no idea what kind of signal degregation this will cause but if you do it well it shouldnt be a big deal. It may not be the prettiest solution but it may just work.

Patience, young one. You gave us less than two hours to respond.
Why do you need your CD-ROM drives so far apart? If you put them in adjacent slots, the slave connector on the IDE cable won't be out of reach.

Epox did the same thing with their 8rda+. I just got a 24" cable and it works, but the full tower's horizontal support slab of metal really cramps my style.
however, mind you, those positions are great for mid-towers - gives you much, much more room to work.

Hmm, you could try going with Serial ATA cables. They should give you enough reach. I don't know if the adapters will work with an ATAPI device or not though.
