Im making a new computer which im going to overclock, I want max performance out of my procesesor, thus im going to need a good heat sink and good fans, What would all this total up to??
If you're going AMD and you have a motherboard that has the clearance for it and the mounting holes around the socket, get the SLK-900 with a good 92mm Fan, maybe a 50CFM sunon or something like that. If you're going with a motherboard that doesn't have the clearance, or if you're not sure, then go with the SLK-800 (A if you don't have mounting holes around the socket, U ir you do) with a good 80mm fan (or you could fit a 92mm with a slight bending of the clips) If you're going Intel, then get the SLK-900 with a good 92mm fan.
If you're not concerned about noise, you can go with the 92mm Tornado as your fan, but it's pretty damn loud.
Oh yeah, prices from SVC:
SLK-900 ->$44.99
SLK-800U ->$37.99
SLK-800A ->$33.95

Im using a slk 800 with a vantec tornado. 55 bucks total cost, comp was running at 36 load at 2375 mhz.

That is a good temp IMHO. I wish mine was always that low.
Oh, BTW:
WELCOME TO THE FORUMS
slk800 - 34
4 case fans - 5x4=20
hsf 8
= ~62
if you want to spend a extra 40 you can go cheap water. that will work around the same with less noise.

I know, as of now I just wanted to compare, cause if it costs 50-60 for a good air system, I might as well spend 80 on a water cooling system

a good water cooling setup will cost you more than $80
most good water blocks are on the $50 range
a good air cooled setup will cost you around $60 and some case mods

You could get an excellent heatsink for less than $50-$60 and a good 80mm fan is about $10. So add those up and you will get your answer.
Thank You,
Daniel

I know, Plus for like $30 more I get water cooling which looks cool with UV dye for my Windowmod, Plus watercooling is better anyway
Unless you build it yourself, good watercooling will cost you more than $100. Ask around in the WC forum and they'll tell you the same thing. If you find a watercooling system for less than or around $100, it probably doesn't work very well.
it costs about $200 for a good watercooling setup

^^^ at least, most complete setups are 200-250

Watercooling can be done to various degrees. You figure if you're very resourceful (make your own block, find an old heater core, get a cheap pump), it could probably be done for around $50. THen again for a balls-to-the-wall, complete, super system, using retail components, it might be $300. It really depends on your knowledge, ability, time, money and purpose.

http://www.nexfan.com They have all kinds of coolers and fans at excellent prices. I ordered from them 5 - 6 times and always good prices & good service.

If you are looking for maximum performance you are going to get it with water cooling. The famous saying does apply "you get what you pay for" A decent water cooling set up can be complete for around 200 if not less by using ebay and being resourceful. It will also be a huge factor with maybe 5 fans in an aircooled compared to 1 or 2 with watercooling

not always, you could make an exceptional sytem for around 150 or even less if you dont mind doing some stuff yourself, like pulling a HC from a junkyard and using cheap tubing...

Thats a scarey though...just think...you could have a in-case waterfall...
And if you do like me...3 Tt2...20.00/each and 3 delta 80mm screamers 20.00/each plus the SLK-800 30.00 shipped and a Tt2 on the SLK-800...13.00...
I bought the 3 Tt2 fans and delta screamers when they first came out...that is why they cost 20.00 each...plus shipping
the Tt2 and delta screamers can be found for around 13.00 plus shipping now and you can get a SLK-800 A for around 30.00 plus shipping...and my system might be loud but the system temps are at room temps and my CPU is 2c over at idle and 6 - 7c over system temps at full load...this is running at 1.6v's on a 1700 DTL...

I don't really know much about watercooing, but I guess the watercooling gurus can tell you whether any of these are good or not.

all good except i would not feel comfortable with that pump. I would save the extra money and go with eheim.

well it doesnt suck but it isnt supposed to be run inline it needs to be submerged...

i personally dont like submerable puimps for the reason that it takes up more space if your keeping everthing in your case. Also i havent found i reservoir except custom ones that are for submersable (correct me if im wrong)

i agree, but the pump doesnt suck. most of the failures where because it was run inline instead of submerged... it doesnt suck but its not he best.
