heres the situation: At 275 fsb (3.58 Ghz) my system is stable. That is nice, but I would really like it if I could get it stable at 3.6. I got temps in the lower to mid 40's @ 3.6 & the vcore is 1.7. At that point, its stable in Windows & can do things in that just fine. However, when I try to play Rise of Nations, it restarts after about 60 seconds into the game. My ram timings are 2-3-3. if there any things you can do to squeeze a little more out of a chip like relax timings or something, i would like to know, because I really want it stable @ 3.6, thanks!

also, if there is anyone that would want to trade there 2.4 that runs at 3.6, id be willing to trade this chip, & a fair amount of cash as well.
You sure can try relaxing the RAM timings, but with vcore at 1.7v, I say you are probably at about your limit. Actually, I'm amazed you got that good of an overclock considering you're using PC2700 RAM. At 4:3 mem ratio, that's DDR366 and your RAM is only rated at DDR333. Must be some nice Corsar sticks. Trading for a 2.4C will make your RAM situation worse. Perhaps it's time to get PC3500 so you can use the 5:4 ratio and get DDR440 at 275 FSB?

yeah i have 1 512 stick, at one point it was at 380 Mhz, & now its at 185 for some reason. i think my board changed the ratio without telling me (i think i was at 4/3, now at 3/2 or something). I can figure out how to fix it. i would get some corsair pc3500, but i am a little low on money right now

i cant figure out how to fix it*, also with the 2.4c, lets say i traded with someone, & got it 3.6 ghz, 300 fsb, how would that be even worse for my ram?

can anyone answer the question of why i would be worse off trading with someone who had a 3.6 2.4c? with my avg ram, im more concerned with cpu speeds. also, does anyone else have any stability tips?

i think it's better for u to stick with your 2.6c or if u 1 to change, 2.8c will be more suitable for u. :) let's see why 2.4c is not suitable for u, the highest your ram can go is around 380mhz, & u're looking for 3.6ghz, for a 2.4c to hit 3.6ghz, u'll need 300fsb. here comes the problem, 300fsb using 3:2 divider, u'll need 400mhz, 4:3 divider, u'll need 450mhz...:(

so regardless of any ratios, i wouldnt be able to run it @ 3.6?
To run at 3.6 gig with a 2.4C (the average is 3.2 to 3.4 so you'd need to find an exceptinal 2.4C), you'd have to use a lower mem ratio, but the 3:2 ratio is as low as you can go on that mobo, so your RAM will run out of steam before you reach the CPU max. Besides, you only have one stick of RAM. You really need two for dual channel to double your memory bandwidth. That explains why you're overclocking the RAM so much, it's much harder to do that in dual channel. So, since you need another stick of RAM anyway, might as well sell that one and get two sticks of faster RAM.
