Hey all.
I've got this T-bird 900(blue-core), and am replacing the thermal pad with thermal paste. So far I've removed the gooey pink stuff from the heatsink and from the top of core. This gooey pink stuff is still around the edges of the core . How do I remove this stuff without damageing the core ?

acetate i.e. finger nail polisher remover or rubbing alcholol. Use cotton balls and carefully clean it. I used finger nail polish remover on my 800 and it worked like a charm.

hell if nail polish remover could take the epoxy off my gpu on my graphics card(!!!), i'm sure it'll get rid of some thermal pad goo.

actually it does, tom's right. have cleaned a few pads off.. scrape it off gently with a knife and then get rid of the last bits with nail polish remover.
