Get MPs if you wish to run a dual processor setup. Otherwise, don't.

From some reading, it is possible to turn some XP's into MP's. I'm not sure what the distinguishing characteristic is why some work and some do not.

There's an L5 bridge that has to be cut in order for an XP to be an MP if I am not mistaken. Some people use a battery to make the bridge physically blow nowadays.

Wrong!!!!!

You have to connect a bridge not cut one. Welcome to the forums:D

Yeah, well, whatever. heh I've never had to mess with it--I was still pretty close! I doubt I'll be here long. I was just popping in looking for posts on peltiers. I'm considering an air-cooled 172w peltier.

Particle, don't take those big red letters personal, kendan just doesn't want someone to stop reading this thread after reading your post and mess up thier processor (big red letters always get's people attention ;) ).

btw, i don't know much about pelts but an air cooled 172W just doesn't sound like it would work too well. check out the extreme cooling sub-forum in general cooling, that's where you would find better answers.
