I am just using a simple air cooled BOX with a chrome orb. I want to make sure I have good cooling, is there a list that states average temps?

go to the AMD site... look around you will find what you need to know... i personaly wouldnt go over 130!!!!!! that is too hot. i had my athlon 900 running at 85 degrees before i OD'd it. hope this helps...

Thanks. I was getting over 100 last night, but I switched to a new box with better ventelation, I hope it helps. I have been doing testing with the cover off, will the air flow better with the box closed? I am wondering if it will help?

seems to have plataued at around 114F/46C, is this safe? This is my first 100% from scratch box, so I am just hoping i have done everything right. I could not access the files on AMD that state the proper temps for the 900.

46C is fine but if you overclock you'll need something beefier than the Chrome Orb.

if you don't want to buy a new fan just yet , there a couple of mods that you can do to get that corb to perform , first Lapp it , then put a 1/2 collar around the top (tape of some kind) then remove the stock fan and replace it with a HOP 60mm or 40mm fan use arctic silver paste this should help get that Jim dandy fan of yours to work ;D
