has anyone gotten that dinky little fan off their r9000 card, cause i can only get 300 mhz on the core and mem so i was looking to stick a socket 370 hsf on the core and see how far it will go

To get the stock hsf off the 9000 pro you just put the card into a suitable bag (anti static, ziplock, etc) and pop it into the freezer for 15-20 min. Then take it out of the bag and use something like a credit card of something for protection and use 2 screwdrivers to gently pry it up. That's what I did with mine and have seen done in reviews. Just be sure to take your time and clean up the goop underneath before you mount a new hsf. :D

I changed the HSF to a Vantec Iceberg. I maxed out at 305/305. Mine is a Built by ATI and I though that was an OK overclock. If you have a Powercolor or Saphire, that's a real good overclock.

I hit 310 on stock also. I then put the thermal take blue orb on it. Still only gained a few Mhz with it on.

Are u guys serious?? since i lapped my gpu, i can get 325/325 stable but since im on stock, hsf, i have to tome it down to 310/310. I pinpointed the problem to be linked to cooling, so as soon as i get some money, im going to buy an 80watt pelt and hope to get 340/340. also, post ur 3DMark01se scores if u have any.
