im planning to buy corsair memory 3200 for my n-force2 board.
Now should i put in the twin x series 2-256 mb memory and run it in dual channel or just one 512 mb stick??
and if i choose 2-256 mb sticks can i later put a 512 mb stick with along my 2-256 mb ones.
thanks guys

ok here is a simple answer.
1) is it Dual DDR or normal DDR?
if dual than 2x256 becasue you will NEED 2 sticks :)
if not than 1 512

I could be wrong, but I believe AMD's don't gain much bandwidth/performance from Dual DDR. Also, it is easier on the system to overclock one stick of RAM as oppossed to two. If this is right, I'd stick with the one stick of 512MB, and try to get a better OC out of it.

Johnny is right. On all my nForce2 systems, I got more speed
and memory bandwidth pushing the FSB rather then simply
running in dual channel.
If you can overclock over 200FSB, go single stick.
If you are lucky to hit 166FSB, then go dual channel with the
lowest latency you possibly can.

I've run the tests (plot of comparison using Prime95 here (http://home.earthlink.net/~deeppow/OC_Guide/Sync_Async_performance_comparison.htm)) and there is a gain albeit small at an fsb of 200, about 3-5%. If the cost is the same then why not go dual and get the extra performance?
