An Average Water Cooling System.....And Isn't it better to have a Water Pump that Pushes out more GPH? And is a Pump that Pushes out 1200GPH too Strong? Thank you

The new 1.2gig chips seem to be ocing very well (1400+), often at default voltage - hence not much of a temperature rise. I'd have thought then that 1400 would be quite possible with watercooling. And you're right, generally the more powerful the pump the better, to a certain point - I suspect that a 1200gph pump would push the water through so fast there was no time for heat to transfer between the waterblock and the water, and the water and the radiator. About 200gph is probably sensible.

I have my 1.2 TBird at 1365, It will run at 1421 but is still unstable in prime95. After doing the burn in for a week I'll try to get 1421 again, Burn in does help! I look at like this if burn in does not help , what did you lose? 1200 GPH is way to much pressure , unless you have hose's that are 1 mile long. I have a 95 GPH pump that fits in a 4x4 box . It works fine as my temp's at idle are 36c and full load are 40c.

burn-in is a theory.. some people say that when your new chip reaches an apparent limit, you should run it under extreme and constant stress for a week or two and it will clock higher after that. and a lot of people disagree with them and say it does nothing at all. try it.. you have nothing to lose. prime95, set@home, 3dmark2000, etc, etc are all programs used for burn-in puposes by believers.

Burnin definitely worked for my tbird700 - it wouldn't do more than 800 at first, but then went to 875 after a week of deus ex. Didn't do anything for my duron though - I've had it running seti 24/7 since I got it in early december, it won't oc any more than when I first started it up. Try it and see though, you've got nothing to lose :)

WHATS A BURN ON? DO U JUST RUN YOUR PC NON STOP FOR A WEEK?

That's the basic idea yeah - just run 24/7 with something that stresses the cpu, so it never idles - that's why seti is so popular, it keeps the cpu under stress when you're not there :-)
