I'm very leary about alot of the software out there that "makes hardware run better." Most notably downloading accelerators and many utilities such as FirstAid98, etc. Too many can really bog down a system becuase you have all this junk running in the background that truly isn't doing anything. And lets not get started on FirstAid...someone let me borrow that a long time ago, I figured I'd try it and ended up uninstalling it after it made my system run WORSE.

Anyway...I got way off track there didn't I. I am curious though...what exaclty can software do to drop CPU temp by 20 deg F? Thats a pretty drastic drop and certainly caught my eye. How does it work?

Rain is ok for general non game useage but atually reduces the cpu
processing power if left to run while playing cpu intensive games, the
problem with most put it asleep so called cpu software coolers. You
really need a 2 fan Heatsink and a good airflow around the cpu,
especially with Athlon cpu's, I dropped 7C off my cpu temp by
adding a normal 12 volt fan 1 inch over the normal fan plus H/sink.
