View Full Version : I'm fighting the will power
I thought I could sit out this round of Intel goodness, P4 "C" chips and i865/i875 stuff, and wait for prescott/tehama/tejas/cojones/siliconage or whatever they've coded the next generations, but it is difficult. The thoughts of 275 to 300 fsb's make me salivate and worse. Also, when guys are dumping P4P800 mobo's for $100, god, is this a test or what? Am I satisfied with i845PE action and single channel DDR for now? Hell, yes, so what is my problem?
I need a cold shower and some affection of the female persuasion. Hope I remember what the wife unit looks like.

Give in its only money.
lets just hope the prescotts are good overclockers like the c-series chips.
Could someone give me some details on the prescotts, and does anyone know for sure what month they are coming out? I'm on the verge of laying down some cash for a 2.6C but might want to wait.

same thing with me. I have beeing thinking about getting the 2.6c, but the past few days i've been spending some significant time on these forums and i heard about prescots with 1MB of cache and the canterwood chipset will support it supposedly even though intel could change their mind. The 1st batch of prescotts are supposed to have s478 just like the current p4s. Hopefully intel doesn't change their mind on this. I think i might hold off on the 2.6c and get the prescot when it comes out.
