Does anyone know of a place online where I can buy small amount of very fine wet and dry sand paper for lapping purposes?

o 400 Grit Super Fine Wet/Dry
o 600 Grit Ultra Fine Wet/Dry
o 800 Grit Ultra Fine Wet/Dry
o 1000 Grit Ultra Fine Wet/Dry
o 1500 Grit Mirror Fine Wet/Dry
o 2000 Grit Mirror Fine Wet/Dry

You can get wet-or-dry abrasive sheet in grades up to 1200 from www.cromwell.co.uk , who also sell milling bits, drills, saws, and general engineering tools for the industry. I use them for milling bits and stuff as they're just round the corner from me.
Anyway, my opinion is you don't need anything over 1000 grit for lapping. Just stick it on some glass and work up from 400/600 grit. After the 1000 grit, you can stick some brasso / t-cut on a soft cotton cloth also stretched over the glass and finish it to mirror shine if that's your bag. I didn't see any difference in temps personally between 1000 grit finish and mirrored. Just my 2pence worth :-)

i got mine from here http://www.cfsnet.co.uk/acatalog/CFS_Catalogue_Wet_or_Dry_Paper_86.html
they sell @35p +vat per sheet but they only do up to grit 1200. If you are only ordering only a few sheets you can call them up and ask if they can post it at a lower cost. I did and was sent 5 sheets for about a quid postage.
