Well all my parts came in today for my new amd smp setup.I ordered 1 MSI KD7 mother board.1 athlon 2400xp,2 Sk7 heat sinks,2 sticks of Samsung ddr333,and a Fortron 550 watt psu FSP550-60PLN.

Every thing came in on time and in good condition but that is were the good part ends. The first thing I find to my frustration is that the psu which I bought thinking was necessary turns out that I cant even use it with my mother board. The atx power connector is much wider then the standard connector I'm used to.What type of psu did I mistakenly buy?

I then decide to just use my pc power and cooling psu (350watt)to get the system going.I then unpack my 2400s and prepare to do the L5 bridge. I get my chepo radio shack sodering iron and some soder. But to my frustration I find that the iron gets hot to the point to were it is practically burning the soder.I was not even able to get the soder off the iron for the most part. I couldn’t get the two gold dots connected correctly so the mp part was a no go. I also managed to get two nasty burns on my hand from the iron .

Now that I'm stuck were I am I need to know if I can get a adapter for my psu so I can use it with my mother board. I also need to know were I can get the amd cpu unlocking kit or possibly a metal writing pen.

You can use regular "Rear Window Defogger Paint" available from most auto parts stores.

The good part is, it's pretty cheap and works well. The bad part is, it doesn't last long, so you don't get too many unlocks out of it, before it dries up.

I use a silver conductive pen, but it costs twice as much as defogger paint and it's hard to find, but it lasts FOREVER! I've used it twenty times, at least, and I'll probably have it for many more mods. It doesn't dry up in the tube like defogger paint does.

Do you know of any online retailers that sell the pen or maybe a local store like radio shack?

The Radio Shack's I have gone to don't carry it. You could try www.partsexpress.com

I got mine from a local electrical supply retailer.

Couldnt a soldering iron kill a cpu if used that way? Who told u to use that?

I don't think solder would hurt the CPU, but the iron sure could;)

Unless you're pretty skilled with a soldering iron I wouldn't even try. Especially since there's a simpler alternative like conductive ink.
