Does anyone know if a K6-2+ will work on an Amptron PM9900 mobo?

The K6-2 is a pretty compatible chip.... this little blurb of text is from Amptron's web site (www.amptron.com):

FEATURES:
Main Chipset
Via AGPro chipset
Supports Pentium P54C/P55C, Cyrix 6x86L, 6x86MX, 6x86MII, AMD K6/K6-2 and IDT C6 processors
Supports CPU clock frequencies of 60/66/75/83/95 & 100MHz

The specs for voltage say that the voltage will only go to 2.1 volts. I know those K6-2+ chips work on a 2.0 volt setting. If you are going to be overclocking it anyway, this probably isn't a huge deal as you would be running it over stock voltage. The only way to know if it will work would be to try it. Hey, and if it doesn't, I have a Epox MVP3G2 that I know supports it that you can buy off me if you like.

I don't care too much for Amptron MoBo. I have my T-bird 800 on one and my GeForce 2 MX won't tun in turbo mode on it, even with the latest 4in1 and Det6.47. It seems to have its problem in the DMA stuff.

Looks good for a K6-2+ on your mobo. Here's something from a site that compiles a list of K6-2+ and K6-III+ motherboards.

Amptron PM9900

Based on MVP3, 1MB cache, Cmedia 8330 on-board sound. Bios is not + aware (boots as 66MHz MMX CPU), but it boots painlessly at 400, 450 and 500, and all you have to do is to set write allocation/write combining
on.
