is there a card that i can buy that will allow me to record digital cable to my computer? I know the ATI video cards can do it but i have a GF2 and it doesnt have that. Short of buying a new vid card is there a way to record stuff onto my computer? We get every movie channel and theres alot of good movies i wouldnt mind have a perfect digital copy of on my computer.
Thanks

You mean like TV shows?
If you do, sure. Just about every TV tuner card on the market today can record in MPEG-2. This will also let you watch TV on your PC, too, and the available PVR software is quickly approaching the ease of use of a TiVo.
The only downside is that you'll need to get a second cable box for the line going in to your computer. And you'll need a lot of hard drive space, an hour of recorded MPEG-2 will eat a couple gigs of space on your drive.
