Anyone played this game with my rig I can have every setting at max and it plays fantastic...

I guess Doom 3 will be more taxing than this?

Cheers RichieR

PS Game looks great though!

My brother got this game for his birthday a few days ago. He loves it. I watched him play it for a while and it looked amazing. Even on his geforce3 ti200 it looked great.

It is a fantastic game... The soundtrack is just brilliant... and that slow motion thing where you walk the walls is great... The fighting is also brill... I'm in the middle of it just now breaking out the airport...:) All Played at 1280x1024 with their 5X aa setting and 3X af + everything else at 100 max, shadows, details, etc...

Man I love games...:) This is what its all about!

Yea, the slow-motion mode is soooooo coool. The aiming with the guns is kind of lame, but thats all it could be really, considerign the view they have. Other than that, the actual fighting is awesome.

Isnt enter the matrix a DX8 game?

they wouldn't make it solely dx9... that would limit it to only high end cards and **** off a lot of people.

The Matrix is a DX9 game it says that you must have DX9 or higher to run it and will automatically install it if you don't have DX9... The new Hi-Tech games are a coming...! :)

There are no directx 9 games out. They let you install DX9... but DX8.1 should work. But any directx 8 compliant card can have dx9 installed and run Enter the Matrix. The game companies are going to let the DX9 compliant cards saturate the market.. and then they will start releasing DX9 games. They dont want to release games that only those with DX9 cards can play, because they want to sell the games to as many people as possible.

And from what I have seen of Enter the Matrix... so far its pretty crappy. The textures are bland... and not very high res, gameplay is repetitive and is not up to standard with todays great games. Im sure it can still be very fun... but... there are much better games that dont take up 4.7GB of harddrive space, and no there is no light or minimum install... you have to put 4.7gb on your drive.

I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion I don't know if it'll run on <DX9 as I haven't tried it however it does specify that you must have DX9 installed...

Which 'Great Games' would you recommend?

Thats what i heard, it was a huge install. Plus i was told that they made the wheels looked square, you would think they would be round.

Mind you i havnt played the game yet ill have to see for myself before i make any comment, till tomorrow we shall see..

the gameplay is alright. the best thing about it is the story line. the graphics are xbox quality whcih gets to me alittle. when I set 4X AA and 16X AA, I expect roundness, not square, and I mean square wheels. also there are glitches every now and then. they are not as bad oon my 9700 pro, but on my computer with a 8500 they are horrible. sometimes the guns just disapear!.

all in all, its not a great game, I feel it was rushed and developed for consoles, and they didnt tweak it at all for the PC. also I found it funny running in the airport and seeing bigass Intel Pentium 4 ads on the walls as well as nvidia the way its meant to be played ads.

It is standard practice to "recquire" the latest DX because game companies dont want to answer questions about issues MS solved 3 versions ago ;)

I've heard that it is a nightmare to play on a console becuse the interface is crap... Though you can tell that it is designed for the consoles... I still quite like it and my bro thought it was great!

Square wheels are a bit strange!?!? though I suppose anything is possible in the Matrix...:)

There are plenty of great games I woudl recommend. If you want action games I would have to say NOLF 2 is great. Also Splinter Cell is awsome, Vice City, and I still play Max Payne.... so try that if you want to see how bullet time should really be... and also... try one of the Max Payne Matrix mods that have kung fu and bunch of other very cool matrix tricks. But there just mods, not really total conversions, so you dont get a whole game with story. Just awsome action.

I mean I had high hopes and was really let down by some of the glaring problems with a game that cost 30 million to produce...which Im pretty sure includes marketing, but still a real let down. However the story fills in some holes in the movie... so if nothing else play it for that.

I just did the level in the Manson with the fight scenes with the vampires... The mansion looked great... paintings, chandeliers, The fight scenes are incredible... I called the misses through just to see the action... Hey I have Splinter Cell and GTA VC they are both great games however this is diffrent class... Just for the fight scenes alone and the slow motion moves... Throws, holds, punches, combos... low, kick high kick... Surrounded by bad guys sweeping kicks walking on walls... slow motion... This is awesome!

I don't see how a real gamer wouldn't like this game...

Vice City makes you install dx9 to play.

Not to mention the Opengl games which ask you to install DirectX  We need to remember that there is a difference between something being a Direct3d 9 game and something just requiring Directx 9 runtime files . DirectX has alot more in it than Direct3d , it includes Direct Input and Direct Sound etc as well as numerous bug fixes with each version . So when you see DirectX 9 coming with a game please don't assume it's the 3d .

Although I haven't played it, I have seen plenty of screenshots and seen it advertised on TV. Looks to me like it was designed for PS2 and then ported to everything else which really urks me. I spend $500 on new computer parts and they port PS2 games to computer. What a waste. Good thing we have games like UT2003 and Unreal II when we want something realistic looking. Glad you like the game though. That's what counts!

Im sure it can still be fun. But I think all the hype made the let down even bigger. So many reviewers were setting their bars higher than usual. but still I agree It didnt live up to expectations. But hey, next time... maybe they will do a good job.

even if they are asking you for DX9 I assure you that these games do not require any hardware support for it thus it is quite hollow actually saying DX9 game, may it use DX9 joystick support...yes...will it use all the latest DX9 D3D features that will stop about 95% of the worlds copmuter owners from playing it?
