So which is the better CPU - T'bred 2600+ (2.1ghz) or Barton 2500+ (1.8ghz)?

Thanks!

well hte barton is better at stock for sure, hte extra cache puts it over the T-Bred i think, but when overclocking i dont really know neither of those are awsome processors and i have heard that the extra cache ont eh barton can make it not OC as well though im not totaly sure if thats true... if you plan to OC like mad get a 1700+, 2100+, or 2400+. many people have hit 2.5Ghz on air iwth 1700+ and 2100+'s wich is WAY faster than either of those:D

Interesting - I have a 2000+ right now and the best I can get it on Air is 1.99ghz.....I have seen a few reports of the Bartons being able to go high but you need to get one of the new stepping chips....I'm looking to buy from Newegg thinking that they have a higher turnover rate and therefore might have newer chips.

i would think an equal increase in mhz with a barton to a tbred is equal to a larger increase in performance in the barton because of the cache

that could be true but i dont think that the money warrents it and i also think you have a better chance of a high OC with one of the Tbred B's... i have seen a 1700+ get to 3 ghz... on LN2 but still, and 2100+ at 3 ghz iwth prommy/vapochill...

Yes my 2000+ is a pally... running at 1.99 on air cooling...can get it to post at 2.09 but not even stable...idle 38 and full load (with Folding@home and gaming) 46.5....It is alwasy running at 100% usage with F@H

I'm not looking for a super overclocker since I just have air cooling and I have heard that the 1700+ are hit or miss. I'm justt look for a nice boost to the furture usage. I was looking at the 2500+ Barton or 2600+ (333) T'bred.
