First off, I might be wrong, but if I remember correctly they are both made by the same company?

I've been looking around Newegg for a PSU, and these are the two brands I'm looking at. I'm looking for something cheap, so that means the 300W to 400W range. But the thing is, Fortron has (2) 300W , (1) 350W, and (1) 400W models. Sparkle has (3) 300W, (1) 350W, and (1) 400W models.

I'm trying to save on costs, and this rig won't need alot of power, as it won't have a lot of the extras that my main rig has. But can someone tell me what the difference is for the PSUs with the same Wattage ranking? Why sell 3 individual 300W models?

- Thanks

i forget all the differences, but you can look them up by clicking on the link to the company in the newegg site...

also i would get the 350 watt fortron for $32...or the 350 watt fortron with the 120mm fan for $48 or $55 from xpdirect or coolcases.com

if you dont' need a lot of power, go with the 300 PN from newegg. i belive it's under the sparkle category. it has 1 120mm fan and rated up to 380w or so.

http://store.yahoo.com/directron/fsp30060pn.html is another 300watt Fortron/Sparkle that has the single 120m/m fan…I find them more than capable for most systems…For not much more money this is a great 350watt power supply that will work with just about any conceivable desk top box http://store.yahoo.com/directron/fsp35060bn.html Great power supply’s that will not break the bank and give you reliable service for years to come…
