I have a TBird 700 on a KT7 RAID and I'm thinking of OCing it. I've read all about how to unlock the chip, but I think mine is unlocked already. I've messed around a little with it and have been able to OC it to 850 so far. It wasn't very stable because my cooling isn't the greatest right now, but I'm working on that.

My big question is about the copper shims. Are they worth using? Do they really help at all? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the first time I tried to fit a coppy shim on my 800 Tbird I was careless and fried it. So my next Tbird 800 which would overclock less, my previous one could reach 1,129 11x103. while this one can only do a max of 1,029. 10x103. Well enough of that, I would recommend super glueing the edges but becareful when you place it on the cpu, make sure there isn't any contacts on the resistors on the cpu die and place it, that way you can ad anything on it without moving the shim which in turn killing your cpu. The temps will drop about 2-3 degrees C which is a good thing.
