Okay. There has been a virus exposed to one of the computers here at work, and I've been working to clean it out without formatting or reinstalling anything. So far, I've got over 2000 files quarantined and deleted, but I know there are a lot more. If anyone wants details on what virus it is, I'll be able to post it later.

(Some damn ignorant person/student tried to download a the full version of the Sims...I'm guessing from a warez site(I found some file called the sims full or something like that...)).

Oh one more thing, most of the files that have been found so far have been in the temp folder. Can I just empty it out without any worries?

are they named something like "184gje.tmp" ? if so that virus is a real pain in the butt ;) i had to format to get rid of it, cuz everytime i installed something onto the drive it was automaticly infected with the virus :(

I'm not to sure where my mums came from the virus was on her PC, so either kazaa, or a warez site, but she doent DL from warez sites. maybe one of those popups that automaticly download something to your computer. Anyway on hers it had a buncha .exe's in c:\windows\media, like q3_full.exe like lots cracks and games, but they were all the same just renamed an with different icon's, they were all the same size too like 13-11KB i cant remember.

but if you gimme some onfo about the virus i might be able to help you out.

Someone's using that computer right now (It's not doing anything to regular computer use, but it's there), so if you're around after 5pm PST I'll have the info then.
