I've overclocked my good old 0.25um athlon 500 quite a bit, up to 800MHz. Ofcourse I need to go higher, but I run into troubles. I'm doing 800MHz 1/2cache at 1.8V now, and can do 850MHz 2/5cache only at 1.9V stable. Watercooling keeps the system VERY cool, I use a home engineerd alu-block (my father is an engineer and made it for me) with an old heater core, alu ofcourse. CPU runs about 12°C above ambient at 1.8V, but I can't confirm until my probe is ready.

I don't know what the effects are of 1.9V+ on my CPU, nor on short term or long term. Is there someone who also has a slot-A CPU running at high voltage or who know's about it? I don't want a CPU that wear's out within a couple of days, you see. Mobo (K7V) goes up to 2.3V I believe, so no problem with that one. Every piece of advice is welcome, is there anyone with a some kind of setup? Tell me about it. Currently I'm still running at 800 but I want to go HIGHER!!! :D

Any of the socket-A guys have any ideas/experience too?

Ofcourse I've checked the CPU database, but there aren't very much people going this high, and they have no info about high voltage.

not too sure if this will help you in any way... but i have a slot A running at 1.87 V. i had it at 1.9V but it crashed as i played games. i am actually thinking of lowering the voltage a little to see what happens!!!!! sorry that i dont have more info for you but maybe this will help a little
