I just bought the Logitech mx duo last night.

I love both, but frequently the mouse jumps. It feels like its jumping at certain applications and runs zig zag and some other crazy ****.

I uninstalled the drivers from my old mouse, installed the new mouseware from logitech, tried placing the docking station at different locations on my desk, everything.

I cant think of anything else to try. The only thing I can think of is trying to reformat the hdd. Doing this might clear out the regestiry and hopefully help something.

Anyone have any other ideas or experience this problem?

Thanks.

running XP.

(especially at AOL IM, it jumps all over the place...)

Have you checked the mouse properties in Control Panel? Maybe there's a "snap-to" function or something like that. (Does it jump to the buttons?)

If I'm not mistaken it's optical. I don't know what to do about it short of a reformat. If that still doesn't work, you probably got a bad apple and should get it exchanged.

so maybe something was wrong with the optics huh...

That's what I'm thinking. Normally it should be PnP (I think), but with a reformat, you can rule out mouse driver conflicts. The only other problem I just thought of was a possibility that your old mouse drivers were conflicting with the new one, but that's unlikely.

ok i changed mouse pads... i was using a dell vinal or something... it was kinda shiny... it could have been that.

yeah, it could either be the mouse pad, which you just tried let us know how that goes. or it could be the docking station. Mine was REALLY finacky as to where it was on the desk. It's supposed to be something like 3 ft. away from any other electronics(which isn't very practical) so just move it around till you find the sweet sopt. So one of those 2 things would be my guess.
