I had tried to cross the L1 bridges but was unsucessful
and now the damn thing wont boot ???
Is it possible that the L1 bridges need better cleaning ?

Try using a pencil eraser followed by a damp tissue, then dry it off. If you need to, use nail polish remover (if you can find some :) ) - that ought to get rid of it.
