(revisited) K7D + T-bred xp2400+s

Thanks for the previous replies regarding this...

My buddy is debating getting two T-bred xp2600s for his K7D ($105 at PCsupplysource), as they are the last of the T-bred 266 family.

Am I correct in assuming all that is required to get these up and ruunig is a L5 mod? I have yet to do anyhting with my xp2400s, so I am unable to confirm this.
