I just reinstalled Windows 2000, and when I go to shut down the computer, it will display "it is now safe to turn off your computer" but it won't actually turn it off like I want it to. I remember I had this problem when I first installed Windows 2000 but that was about 2 yrs ago and I can't remember how I fixed it. Help!

Maybe enable ACPI in your BIOS, and change your Computer Type in Device Manager to "ACPI-Compliant" or "ACPI Uniprocessor PC".
