A couple weeks ago I bought an Apacer from newegg for $34 shipped. Works well for me. Came with a 3ft extension cord as well which is helpful.

I'v got a Cigar Por 128mb one made by Soyo. I can highly recomend them. So far I have transfered several thousand mb from work to home with no problems and thats even with tearing it up twice. 2 diffrent times I have had to repair it due to carelessness on my part (ripped it out of the USB port twice and bent it up pretty good). Still works like a charm though.
It may not be the cheapest but I talked my dad into buying a cheaper brand and he has to play with it a lot to make it work on some computers.
I use memory stick reader and a stick of 128MB taken form my camcorder.
The reader comes with no memory but costs only $10.
And if I break it the memory stick will be still ok.
I don't use it that often so I can share the memory stick with the camcorder.
Just wanted to point out another option.

That's all true but at least with a Pen Drive you don't have to tote along a card reader when you use it on someone elses computer.

Just a side note, Forgot to mention the Apacer works with ME, 2k, XP no drivers needed. Plug n Play. I've used it on several computers no problems.
Downside: No software for password protection, no software to make bootable (though I'm sure you can do it by other software solutions)

YOu know I thing Sandisk makes a USB pendrive thingy trhat is a little bigger thab a normal pen drive. The nice thing about it was it takes the regulkar compact flash card memory, so you can upgrade the storage later if you need to.
Here it is, The Cruzer.

Another vote for the Soyo. At Newegg it's quite reasonable. My wife and I have the 64 MB version and have used it successfully on windows 98(driver needed), ME, XP and MacOS X. Any pen drive will need drivers when working with Win98, however.
